Marine Harvest is Part of the Community
The many phases of Marine Harvest Canada's fish farming business are located in or near a number of coastal communities.
Campbell River, located at the mid-point of the east coast of Vancouver Island, is home to Marine Harvest's main office. Known as "The Salmon Capital of the World", Campbell River is home to many resource industries including tourism, mining and forestry.
Port Hardy, at the northern tip of Vancouver Island, is home to about 200 Marine Harvest Canada employees.
Klemtu, on the mainland central coast, is home to the Kitasoo/Xai'xais people and Kitasoo Seafoods. This joint venture between the Kitasoo and Marine Harvest Canada has helped make fish farming a part of the community.
