Campbell River, BC. Marine Harvest Canada today announces that as many as 30,000 Atlantic salmon escaped from its Frederick Arm farm site on Tuesday, July 1st.

Campbell River, BC. Marine Harvest Canada has joined the Tsolum River Restoration Society, Fisheries and Oceans, the Comox-Strathcona Regional District, and the City of Courtenay to build two bridges over Towhee Creek on Courtenay's Regional Fairgrounds.

Campbell River, BC. Marine Harvest Canada, BC's largest aquaculture company, is using full page advertisements in today's North Island Gazette and this Monday's Victoria Times-Colonist to update the public on its success in minimizing the number of sea lice on its farmed fish in the Broughton Archipelago area during the current out-migration of wild juvenile salmon.

Marine Harvest Canada is pleased to announce that, with the final harvest of fish from its Wicklow Point farm on March 25th, the company's comprehensive 2008 sea lice control plan for its salmon farms in the Broughton Archipelago has been completed a week ahead of schedule.
March 2008 -Fish Farmers Support Local Salmon Enhancement Hatchery
The Gillard Pass Fisheries Association recently received a much needed donation to assist in their Chinook salmon enhancement efforts. Marine Harvest Canada donated 6 three metre circular rearing tubs and other equipment which is now iinstalled and are rearing 200,000 Chinooks. These wild salmon will be returned to the Phillips River and will help in rebuilding sustainable local stocks.
