Marine Harvest delivers Christmas Cheer to local Charities
Campbell River,BC - December 20th, 2012
Marine Harvest Canada hopes to brighten the holidays for dozens of north island dinner tables this holiday season with much needed gifts just in time for Christmas.
Donations of one thousand dollars each were made this week to charities that help bring Christmas to struggling North Island families including the Campbell River Food Bank and the Knights of Columbus Hamper Drive. The Vancouver Island North Women's Resource Society also received $1000.
Meanwhile, Marine Harvest workers donated food and toys for the Food Bank and Knights of Columbus Hamper Drive in Campbell River, as well as to the Harvest Food Bank and Gazette Hamper Fund in Port Hardy.
The Salvation Army welcomed the good news that Marine Harvest will again commit to providing weekly donations of salmon throughout 2013 in support of their lunch program. This commitment has now been maintained continuously for the past seven years.
Marine Harvest Canada is British Columbia's leading salmon aquaculture company and produces one-half of BC's largest agricultural export – farm-raised salmon. Its' processing plants, marine and land based operations are located on and around northern Vancouver Island and the village of Klemtu.
