Paws for a Cause Campbell River organized by Kerri Preus, raised over $30,000 for the SPCA in Campbell River. Our team was well represented and raised $5370.36 for the animals to take top place team in Campbell River. We were $19.26 behind third place in the province. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped in any way to make the Marine Harvest Mutts “tops” in Campbell River.

Match That! Marine Harvest Mutts receives $500 contribution from Watertech Contracting

Pawsforacause_20090814 Leone Bliss (far left) of the Marine Harvest Mutts is taking part in the SPCA fundraiser “Paws for a Cause” on Sept. 13. She’s joined by (from left) Lorraine Noel of the SPCA, fellow walker Paige Felker and Andy Peterson of Watertech Contracting who contributed $500 to Bliss’ pledge sheet. Peterson is challenging other aquaculture suppliers to match or surpass his donation.

BCSPCA Paws for a Cause 2008

Marine Harvest Mutts Team 2008

For the second year in a row, Marine Harvest Canada staff have been awarded the #1 corporate donor prize at the Campbell River ‘Paws for a Cause’ walk. The team, called the “Marine Harvest Mutts”, is comprised of fish farmers, processing plant staff, hatchery staff and administration that all work for Marine Harvest Canada.
‘Paws for a Cause’ is the largest fundraising campaign by the BCSPCA that helps support animals in British Columbia.
This year, Leone Bliss captained the winning team by selling home made baked goods (thanks to Duane Yates who ate most of the goodies!), holding a raffle draw and soliciting donations from aquaculture suppliers.
Thanks to all Marine Harvest staff who donated money and a special thanks to those families that came out for the 4 kilometre walk on September 14th. A very, very special thanks to the Port Hardy Processing Plant staff that traveled 2 1/2 hours to attend the event!!
After the totals were in, the “Marine Harvest Mutts” donated $5,403.14 to the BCSPCA.
The Marine Harvest Mutts placed third in all of BC!!!
